About the Event

Agenda

Item 1: A new project to support children to process anxieties around climate change.

We will be joined by a guest speaker from the Natural History Society of Northumbria who is currently leading a National Lottery funded project called 'How to be a Young North East Naturalist', working with children to help them to become more connected with nature.

They would like to talk to us about a newly funded project working with children under 12 years old through after-school clubs or holiday clubs, to help alleviate feelings of climate change anxiety and empower them to protect their North East nature. Sessions will be fun, enriching and have a positive impact on children's physical and emotional well-being.

Disclaimer:

Please note this project is new and therefore will be a shared learning experience for us all. Schools would be responsible for ensuring their own vetting and pre-check procedures are followed.

Item 2: Q&A / Discussion around school attendance procedures and strategies.

We all have different levels of experience around school attendance strategies therefore we would like to have a group discussion to share what works well in your school. We will facilitate a question and answer session for those who are either new to attendance or looking to review their current strategies and therefore would benefit from the wealth of experience we have across the schools.

If you would like to add any items to the agenda please email paulastones.ces@gmail.com by 4th July.
