About the Event
This training explores the statutory updates from 'Working together to improve school attendance' guidance effective from 19th August 2024, looking at statutory responsibilities alongside practical strategies to promote a culture of positive attendance.
The session shares good practice on how to identify and monitor attendance and work in collaboration with pupils, parents and carers and other professionals to resolve attendance concerns before they become entrenched. Thinking about how we can listen to and understand barriers to attendance, we will consider practical strategies to support a collaborative culture of effective support; this includes considering the impact of special educational needs and emotionally based school non-attendance on pupils’ ability to access education.
